The Tanzgruppe performs a variety of traditional Transylvanian Saxon dances.

The dances incorporate authentic Saxon choreography while adding their own American and artistic flare. The Tracht (costume) of the dancers is also of Saxon heritage. The variations in the embroidery of the ladies’ blouses, and men’s shirts, differentiate from which town of Siebenburgen the Tracht originated. The ornate embroidery of these Trachts is a fine art which takes years to master and hours of needle-point work to complete. Needless to say, the performer’s Tracht is a treasured garment and not easily replaceable.

Many of these Trachts have been passed down through generations or were made for the performer long ago by a mother or grandmother.
